Be a Mentor
Do you want to make a difference? Are you a fun-loving, compassionate person who enjoys guiding others? If any part of that sounds like you: consider becoming a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters! Each year, the nonprofit organization matches Bigs with Littles to foster a space for strong, long-term mentoring relationships. As a long-time supporter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentorship program, Christy Singrey is happy to share how you can get involved and be a mentor — today, tomorrow and for many years to come!
Eligibility Requirements for Volunteer Mentors
In order to be considered for a volunteer position with Big Brothers Big Sisters — including, but not limited to, the Mentor program — you must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 19 years old
- Open-minded, Non-judgmental & Respectful of All Identities
- Willing to commit a minimum of 18 months to the Community-Based Program
- Able to spend 6-8 months in the program each year
- Available for 2 hours of commitment to monthly Real Skills and Ready Waiting Programs
- Able to access an insured vehicle or willing to use public transportation
